outfit post: september shopping wishlist

Here's some random things I've been eyeing lately:

Flannel Shirt - While we don't really get full blown winter here in Florida - starting late October we do get what most of you would call "late fall" for the next few months. So my Florida fall/winter uniform usually consists of jeans, a comfy flannel shirt and some flats. Because my chest is still a few sizes bigger from nursing I need to pick up a shirt or two to tide me over this year so I don't burst a button on the too small shirts I currently have in my closet.
Trench Coat - I have had a navy Banana Republic trench four about 15 years that has been around the world with me. It has endured countless planes, trains and automobiles and done pretty well holding up. But now the interior pockets have disintegrated, some of the seams are starting to go and I lost the belt a few years back. I'm ready for a new one. Here are a few (not ridiculously priced) ones that I'm considering -
Booties - I have one pair of booties that I love but they are super casual cowboy-esque with buckles and slouchiness. Now I want to add a second pair that are slightly more sophisticated.

Black Work Dress - I was in Starbucks this week and saw a girl come in wearing a black dress, cream cardigan, simple necklace and ballet flats. She looked so professional and so cute. It made me realize I don't have a work LBD. I want something simple and flattering. A dress that I can wear on repeat any time the, "I don't have anything to wear" feeling strikes.

Beige/Tan Blazer - On the topic of work upgrades, I currently have three work blazers - black, navy and grey. I'd like to add a Beige/Tan color into the mix. I think it's a color that, when paired with the right tops, can be worn year round. (All of these blazers pictured have tan options - but for some reason that color isn't necessary what is showing in the widget...)

  4. I loved your Leota dress during your pregnancy. Can you wear it now or is it specially cusomized for pregnant women?

    1. I can still wear it. Only issue with maternity dresses post-partum is that they are designed to show off your belly which is the opposite of what you want once you're not pregnant. But until I get a few bazillion more crunches in to tighten up my abs - I just have to wear some good spanx with the dress and it's still super cute. :) (Was that TMI?)

  5. Old navy has some cute flannels now, some are button down and some are pop overs and little bigger and tunic length which I love! I've never been big flannel girl but that's changing this year!
