outfit posts maternity: pink drapey cardigan, navy & pink jersey dress, black flats

(39 weeks)
Inspiration - Jennifer Garner

You've may have noticed that there have been less maternity outfit posts lately and that has been for two main reasons - 1) you've seen all my maternity clothes already and 2) I've started getting the super exhausted jet lag feeling I had in my first trimester again. So between work, baby prep & the minimal amount of keeping up with basic life tasks - I just want to take a nap. Photographing outfits hasn't been a priority. (This outfit is identical to outfit #38 in my maternity capsule wardrobe.)

But I'm excited to be healthy and in the home stretch of this pregnancy. I'm excited to meet this little girl and learn how to adjust to life with a new tiny family member. And, after some unknown reasonable amount of figuring stuff out time, I'm also excited to try my best to share with you my journey in dressing myself and my body after baby.

I've gained 55 lbs at this point so there will definitely be some adjusting to a new (and changing) shape with my casual clothing during my 12 weeks of maternity leave. And then once I go back to work - I'll have to tackle getting dressed professionally again. It will be an interesting journey to have to learn to dress a new shape & size body that very well may keep changing on me over the next year. So hopefully I'll be able to share outfits & thoughts on all of that as I go through the transition... stay tuned!

  1. Looking great! The blogger behind Putting Me Together has a baby not too long ago, so she worked through the whole post-partum body thing, plus nursing friendly tops. Is this your first baby? Even if it's not -- congratulations!

  8. I also gained 55 lbs- good luck with delivery! I lost a lot with breastfeeding and dieted the last 15lbs off a few months after having my daughter, but my body wasn't back to 'normal' until 9-10 months after having her.

  9. You look awesome! It has been challenging for me adjusting post pregnancy but it's also been fun to go through my closet and see things differently. I'm sure you will look great after your pregnancy and I look forward to see what you come up with!

  10. just found your blog via pinterest, because I love your cardigans over dresses. :) But, I have to say, I'm sort of excited to see the next part of your fashion journey, because since I had my two sons, I carry a little extra weight around the middle and struggle to dress it.

  13. You'll probably want to dump the blog as soon as you have the baby, it's a huge life change that can rearrange priorities and not just body shape. I hope you stick it out, the first three months are long, but over in a flash. Wishing you a smooth delivery and recovery. Just post a bunch of reruns for a while and see how it goes.
