So I'm working my way back from the dead.
December 17th & 18th my hubby came down with a fever & cough and I took care of him while trying to finish up my work week. I felt a little funny Friday at work but I didn't think much of it because I honestly can't recall getting very sick or having a fever in the past 7-8 years. But then WHAM I woke up Saturday the 20th full-on sick. Fever, aches, cough - the works. Other then a quick visit to the doctor on Monday I didn't move from laying down on the bed/couch for five full days. At the worst I hit a 103 degree fever plus being nine months pregnant -- no fun at all.
I had all these grand plans pre-Christmas to finish up work for the year, finish my barely started Christmas shopping and work on the nursery. But I just had to let all of it go and give myself over to resting. Quite the mental exercise for someone who is used to always getting it all done. Hubby, who isn't typically the most nurturing/caretaker type, has been super great though days and days of sick duty.
The first day I was upright was Christmas and we made the short drive to my parents house. I wore this outfit. (Found this plus sized 2XL cardigan on super sale at Target a few weeks back and it's all I want to wear now.) I parked on my parents couch and we had low key day with my parents, hubby and three siblings.
And the days following Christmas have been more of living on the couch. My fever is gone but I still have bad rumbling cough and zero energy. (Let's not even talk about the cough & pregnancy heartburn/reflux mix... so not cool.) The past few days I've spent the morning working & trying to wrap up mandatory obligations for the year but those few hours zap all my energy and I find myself back on the couch for the rest of the day.
While at first the couch time & Walk Dead marathon was kinda fun - now this many 'wasted' days in a row is starting to drive me a little crazy. 10 days straight at home is giving me cabin fever. So many thing I wanted to do over break - thank you notes to write, blog posts to put together, nursery to finish, family to visit, party invites outstanding... but I'm still too drained to be much use at anything.
I'm both tired and tired of being sick. And I'm feeling quite whiny about it. But the rational side of me knows the only thing I can do is eat some more stupid chicken soup, drink some more stupid Gatorade, see what TiVo had queued up for me and let my body do the rest to fight this stupid thing. :/
(At the bottom is my monthly maternity picture progression - I can't believe I'm starting my 9th month!!)
Starting my 9th month - I'm getting huuuuuggggee! :)
