Hubby & I are excited to announce we are expecting a little girl in January!
A few month ago when I found out I was pregnant I started taking extra photos when I took my regular outfit picture so that I could have some backup outfits to use here until I was ready to announce the news. So the past few weeks I've been a little sneaky and sharing those pictures instead of recent daily ones.
During this time I've also been thinking about how to handle the blog for this next year of change in my life. So far I've decided that I definitely want to keep posting outfits but I don't want this to become entirely a maternity outfit blog.
I've been brainstorming a handful of ideas that I think I would enjoy if I were a non-pregnant regular blog reader to post 3-4 days each week. And then I'm thinking that I will post 1-2 days of what I'm actually wearing so those who are interested in maternity wear can see how I figure out dressing my pregnant changing body. A little bit for on both sides of the bump fence. :)
So this is very exciting and totally unknown territory for me! I think it will be a fun adventure. I'll do my best to keep things here entertaining and I hope that you bare with me as I figure this all out! :)
8 weeks & 13 weeks
Congratulations to you and your husband! What exciting times lay ahead for you both. I look forward to seeing how you dress your new shape. I always struggled with this and although my youngest is now 9, it is will still be interesting to see. Julie

DeleteCongrats! I'm pregnant too, due in February, so I can't wait to see how you style your bump. Looking forward to great ideas.
ReplyDeleteThank you & congrats too!
DeleteCongratulations!! Something that helped me when I was pregnant was to buy clothes one or two sizes too big - that way you can wear them once you have the baby and start to lose weight.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Thanks for the suggestion!
DeleteCongratulations on your exciting news! We have a three month old baby girl and she's brought so much joy to our lives already. I'm excited to see your maternity outfits - I enjoyed dressing while pregnant even more so! It's a lot of fun to stock up on basics and rely more heavily on accessories for that extra touch. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Congrats to you too!
DeleteCongratulations to your and your husband MK! Hope you can continue with the blog, independently of it being a regular outfit blog or a maternity one! I am sure we will be able to keep using your ideas as inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCongratulations!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCongratulations!! It is so exciting! I am currently pregnant (due Sept. 29) and would LOVE to see you feature professional maternity style. Even though I won't be pregnant while you are - I know it will be an awesome resource for other women looking for "wear to work" attire. And hey, maybe it'll be a resource I come back to eventually ;)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Congratulations to you too!

DeleteWoo hoo!! CONGRATULATIONS!! So excited for you and hubby. As for the blog, as a working woman, I can't wait to see your pregnancy outfits! I think there is a bigger audience for that than you think. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Good to hear! Hopefully I can find the right balance to keep pregnant & non-pregnant posts to keep everyone entertained! :)
DeleteCongratulations! As a middle-aged-ish person, your "baby bump" stuff isn't so far from my body shape :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Good to hear that people might find the bump posts useful for various body types too! :)
DeleteCongratulations!! Very exciting news and I hope you have a healthy and easy pregnancy & delivery! Even as a non-pregnant person it's fun to watch people adapt their style for changing figures and lifestyles once the baby is here! I'm sure you'll do a great job with both!

ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteWarmest congratulations to you. My one and only is 21 today. Yes, the time goes fast. When you reach my point in mommyhood you will say it too. Enjoy every single moment.
ReplyDeleteI'm fairly new here and have been inspired (stolen) many of your outfits. It's so easy because we shop the same stores and so many of your items are in my closet :-)
Thank you! Awesome to hear you enjoy the blog! :)
DeleteCongratulations! I just had my first baby in June and am also a fashion blogger. I kept it secret the whole time because I just didn't want people to know. I used photoshop and concealing poses. I too didn't want my blog to become a blog about pregnancy since there are others who are doing that way better than I could've done. Congrats again!

DeleteCongrats!! What wonderful news!! :-)

DeleteCongratulations!! I'm relatively new to your blog (last month or two), but in that time it has been SO helpful and inspirational. I've pretty much done a huge wardrobe overhaul in that time. My first child is a year and a half now, and this recent wardrobe overhaul has really been fun (and important). I'm finally taking time for me!
ReplyDeleteWe're planning for our second soon, so I'm looking forward to your pregnancy posts!
Thank you! So nice to hear you find the blog useful! :)
Deletecongratulations! what great news!

DeleteCongratulations!!!
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to the future of the blog!
Thank you!
DeleteCongrats! You'll do a great job with the blog (as always) and will be an awesome mom!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCalled it! Mentioning how exhausted you are every two minutes is sort of a dead giveaway. :)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if I was giving myself away complaining every single post about being tired. :)
DeleteCongratulations!! I'm so super excited for you!! (And I had a feeling too...)
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!
Thank you! :)
DeleteCongratulations! I can't wait to see your maternity style!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteCongratulations! I struggled with maternity fashion so I'm excited to see what you come up with! So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's definitely a weird experience all of a sudden getting a different body. I'm just trying to figure it out as I go along.
DeleteCongrats! I just had a baby girl three months ago and really struggled with maternity fashion, so I can't wait to see some of your outfits! I'll definitely bookmark them for the next baby!! Enjoy the ride!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I agree! It's already so weird and I'm only 16 weeks. I hope you find my posts helpful for your next go around. :)
DeleteYay, congrats! I've had two kids and I would have loved to have a one suitcase style post for maternity wear.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea - I definitely want to try to do a one suitcase post once I'm showing a bit more!
DeleteCongratulations! Girls are so awesome. I have a 3 year old daughter and it's so much fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you! We're excited!
DeleteFabulous news, congratulations! I didn't struggle too much with maternity outfits (I lived in leggings and sweaters for the last 6 months of my pregnancy) but I did struggle greatly with post-baby fashion. Between nursing bras and breast-feeding accessible tops....I mean, one can only wear a summer dress for so long! I always felt like a slob. Can't wait to see your creative fashionista inspirations at work through this wonderful journey.
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's been so interesting to hear everyone's different experiences and then to share my own. Hope you enjoy!
DeleteCongratulations- I am so thrilled for you! I feel I am echoing the masses but your blog has really changed how I pack and dress in general and I am so grateful that you put the time and energy into it. I've already had my kids (my youngest is two and my oldest is also a January baby) but I am very excited to see how things progress for you.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Target and Old Navy have great maternity clothes, which you probably already know!
Thank you! So nice to hear that you find the blog useful! Thanks for the shopping tips. :)
DeleteHUGE congrats to you and your hub!! Will love to see your maternity wardrobe, which I am sure will be as stylish as ever! I only wish you had been pregnant when I was - would have been handy for my own outfit planning! ;) All the best!!
ReplyDelete-Paloma (Nine Thirty to Five)
Thank you so much! We could have been maternity closet twins too! Hee hee. :)
DeleteCongrats!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who isn't pregnant and not sure if I ever will be, I still love seeing maternity styling. The styling and combos can still be inspiring and easily converted to non-maternity styles.
Thank you!
DeleteHUGE congrats MK! Very exciting!

DeleteCongratulations MK! Wonderful news :) I had a son two years ago this August and the time certainly flies! I found your blog about a year ago when I was looking to discover a different fashion sense for my body's new shape after being pregnant. You gave me the confidence to feel proud of my body post baby. I look forward to following this next part of your journey. Thank you for sharing it with us!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Makes me happy to hear that the blog helped you. I hope you enjoy the coming months as well!
DeleteCongrats!!!! Love your blog and so delighted to hear your happy news! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Deleteaww congrats! I am expecting too and I think I just hit that point of "my pants don't fit any more", so I guess I need starting to stock up maternity clothes. Can't wait to see your posts, and again, big congrats!!
