(outfits 1-5) one suitcase: spring capsule wardrobe

2/8 - The purpose of this Spring Capsule Wardrobe is to look at a limited number of clothing items and see beyond the first small set of obvious outfit combinations. I have learned that by picking a few favorite & versatile pieces of clothing I can mix and match the items into a surprising number of outfit options. Hopefully the posts this week will show you my method and help you find the potential of the clothes you already have in your closet!

  1. Love every single outfit! WHERE IS SPRING?? :-) Love the new printed pants - glad you were able to find another pair! Those leopard Shoemint sandals are so awesome...I see them on bloggers and can't believe I missed out on them. I keep scouring ebay, but of course they are so awesome...why would anyone sell them??

  4. Great outfits! One thing I always struggle with when packing is planning to wear a top multiple times because I feel like they need to be washed. And that's not always possible when traveling. A top layering piece I can wear multiple times because it hasn't touched my skin, but shirts that touch my skin (ahem, namely that particular area that sweats a lot) need to be freshened up. Do you have to deal with this?

    1. Re-wearing clothing works better when the weather isn't too hot! I guess I approach it from a couple of different points -

--Sometime I layer a tank top closest to my body when putting together an outfit because it's usually just the tank top and the underwear that need washing after a wear. Things like cardigans & pants/skirts can make it through another few wears.
--Sometimes I will just throw in multiples of shirts/tanks for the bottom layer because they take up very little space.
--I also usually pack a travel sized fabric refresher - like
      Downey Wrinkle Releaser.
--But, most often, for a long trip, I just resign myself to the cost of sending out my laundry (or finding a laundry mat) for the benefit of having a light suitcase for the duration of the trip. I think it's totally worth that extra cost to not die every time you have to carry your bag...

      Hope this helps!
