outfit post: cobalt blue blouse, black suit jacket, striped skirt, pointed toe pumps

Forgot to mention my very last purchase from Sunday - these Nine West pumps from Macy's. I already own two pairs of go-to basic black pumps (one with platform and one without) for work but they both have round toes. I've noticed that I've been pinning lots and lots of outfits with pointed toe shoes. So I decided it was time to join the pointed toe club.

This article from The Fitting Room does a good job of explaining how wearing a pointed toe versus a rounded toe changes your outfit. "The pointed toe is more fashionable than practical ....[while] The rounded toe, also known as the almond-shaped toe, this style conveys dependability."

I think it will be fun to see how working these pointed "more fashionable" shoes into my existing wardrobe will make some tired outfits feel new and fresh again.

(This skirt was in my 2013 in review post - 13 outfits with striped skirts.)

  1. This is such a classy outfit without the pumps but add in those ankle strap pointy toes and this is a head turner! Love the contrast of the cobalt and black......thanks for sharing!
