Inspiration - H&M
I did some shopping before I left on vacation. I bought this dress from H&M and these boots with my last lingering credit from my cancelled ShoeMint subscription. (I joined ShoeMint for a year and while it was a fun idea to get a new pair of shoes each month - I don't need/like new shoes that often. So after a year - I ended my subscription.) I only own brown boots so I've been on the lookout for black ones for awhile now.
I also made a quick stop at Target right before I left and picked up the following items:
- Merona Tailored Ankle Pant - 2 pairs, 1 Black & 1 Grey (needed to buy size bigger pant from the ones I already own because I can't seem to lose a few stubborn pounds to fit into my regular ones - ugh)
- Mossimo Printed Tunic Top - Green (love love love - will be in upcoming One Suitcase post)
- Mossimo Leather Trim Cap Sleeved Dress (date night dress?)
- Philip Lim Grey Satchel (fun work bag)
- Mossimo Faux leather print top (Think this a really cool top. I'm just not cool enough to wear it.)
- Mossimo Short Sleeved Plaid Sweater (My husband call this a Bill Cosby sweater - think that's what started my eh feelings about it.)

Been following your blog for a while, but this might be my first time commenting. Just wanted to say that I appreciate this insight into your shopping (both the purchases and the returns). And also wanted to say that I sympathize with the husband comments! My husband once told me that a new dress looked "homely"! While I love his honesty, it doesn't always help with my closet rotation. :)
ReplyDeleteSo true about the hubby's unintentional comments. He doesn't usually have much to say about my clothes but channeling Bill Cosby isn't really the look I'm aiming for! :)
DeleteGood lord. I found you yesterday, I'm not even sure how, but boy am I happy I did. I'm going to LA, LV and Cabo for three weeks and I printed out your one suitcase beach vacation posts and the one about what to back in your onboard bag. I went home last night and picked out 16 pieces of clothing, mixed and matched them to make 40 outfits. I'm so astounded and grateful to have found you :) I used the app CLOTH. I took photos of the pieces and then tagged them with the number of the outfit so that when I'm away I can click on the tag for, say, outfit 14 and there the items are on my phone. Truly, you've changed my whole outlook.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome! I hope you have a fantastic trip!!
DeleteOmg. You're right about that Mossimo faux leather top! It's cool but I too could not pull it off. I just recently blogged it myself and just returned it. I really wanted to be cool enough but alas, no.

Lol. It fits great but I just can't seem to figure it out for my own life. Funny to hear you had exact same experience! :)
