outfit post: striped dress 4 ways

Inspiration - Reese Witherspoon

The 'ways' for the 'one dress 4 ways' really aren't all that different from each other. Pretty much just swapping a cardigan and shoes out for a single dress.

At first I was thinking that this wasn't exciting enough to photograph for the blog but then I thought to myself, "Self, (because I obviously talk to myself and call myself self) is it really necessary to try to get your beach coverup to be transformed to go clubbing and then attend a work conference?" And after I realized I shouldn't address myself directly - I realized that this for the most part is representative of how I actually wear my clothes.

Most clothes get reworn in a certain dress code niche of my life and the little adjustments keep them interesting. Because if I really like a dress with a cardigan then I'm probably going to wear it with a few different colored cardigans instead of trying to force an outfit with a leather jacket or wear a sweater over the dress and try to pretend it's a skirt.

So, I present... one dress - three cardigans! :)

  4. Hee hee, so funny! And I remixed a striped dress for the link-up, as well! I really like your striped dress -- it's lighter with a really interesting neckline. And I love your inspiration of Reese Witherspoon -- I've pinned so many of her looks for inspiration! :)

  6. You must be such an expert at the "One Piece Many Ways" thing after all those suitcase posts. These are all really cute, but that's such a great neckline on you that I think the first one is probably my favorite.

By the way, I'm neighbors with you over at Audrey's link party! Small world since I'm already a devoted reader of yours :)

  7. I love anything striped, too. You've shown here just exactly why... because it is very versatile and never goes out of style! Thanks for more inspiration :) I'd been trying to get more wear for my existing wardrobe rather than always buying new items!

Visiting from the linkup. Would you fancy following each other on GFC or other social networks? I'd love to keep up with your posts. Just let me know if you're interested.

  9. You definitely made that dress so versatile - I love it! I also love that you used Reese as inspiration. It is so refreshing to see a celebrity wear something more than once!
