Inspiration - www.ideeli.com
When I started this blog I didn't know if it would be an easy or difficult exercise to maintain. I wasn't sure how to estimate what kind of time commitment it would be trying to get a post up 6 days a week.
And for the most part it isn't too bad. I snap outfit pictures in the mornings or after work or sometimes when I'm playing in my closet on the weekend. I spend random times during conference calls (meetings that I only need to listen & take the occasional note) casually scanning pinterest for inspiration photos. And then I budget about 15-20 minutes a day to put each post together - uploading the photo, looking up the shopping links & making them affiliate and writing a blurb about the post. And then once or twice a week I try to reply to comments & emails. (<--- Need to get better about frequency of this one.) So maybe around 3 hours a week? Not too bad.
What I found surprising is the absolute hardest part of the whole thing for me is figuring out something the write each day. Sometimes finding a subject is easy because there is a story or thought process or something that makes sense to write about related to the photo - but most times I'm like, "uhhhh I wore pink cuz it's spring" or "oh, look I'm wearing the exact same skirt again mostly because I can't be naked at work!" or "Guess what! I'm wearing the 10,000th cardigan and pencil skirt combo AND did I mention What Not to Wear show in the last five minutes? blah blah blah..." I feel like a total dofus. And like I'm just grasping for a topic to stick in the post. There are only so many anecdotes I have about my clothing.
I don't even know what I'm trying to accomplish by sharing this. Sorry if I'm boring sometimes? I hope you're here for the pictures? Maybe I just didn't have anything else to write about. :)
