outfit post: yellow dot skirt, mustard cardigan, wide woven belt, brown peep toed heels

Inspiration - Michelle Obama

I love, love, love Emma Pillsbury's style on the show Glee. I love all her cardigans, pencil skirts and monochromatic coordination. This mustard cardigan on yellow dot skirt, while more directly inspired by the FLOTUS' outfit, is also my first attempt to try a tone on tone, same color combining outfit. It's a bit out of my comfort zone but I think the classic cut & fit of a cardigan and pencil skirt bring it back from whacky/trendy to reasonable office-wear. Or maybe I'm just kidding myself and look like a big ole butternut squash? :)

    2. I love Emma's style too! She always has the cutest girly blouses.
I recognize that skirt from Loft--I had wanted to order it online during their huge sale, but they were already sold out! Looks great in this outfit.

      1. Thank you! I was just looking at Michelle Obama's - I didn't notice before but it's huge! I don't know if I've ever seen a belt so big!

    8. I agree with everyone else-super cute! I also LOVE Emma Pillsbury's style. Almost every episode I would saying something to DH, and now he just says it first. "You like that dress right?" :)

    9. If you like mustard cardigans, you'll like this one from H&M. I'm not sure if they'll have it where you are, but I just bought it in the UK, and I love it. It's got a crocheted back and I bought it for our current heatwave, so I thought it might suit you in Florida.
