outfit post: striped blue & yellow a-line skirt, navy cardigan, white tie-neck blouse

I bought this skirt back in February and I love the colors of the stripes - white, blue and thin yellow (hard to see) are such happy summer colors. This is my first outfit attempt with the skirt that, while I love the idea of it, I ended up scratching and not wearing after I took the photo. Unfortunately, even though my recreation has some of the same elements of the inspiration photo, the length of the skirt is way too short for me to feel comfortable wearing to my professional office. (And my sky high heels aren't helping the length at all.)

So, it looks like I will only be able to wear this as a casual skirt - which is totally fine. Just thought I'd still share because I still think the outfit combo is super fun. :) Thinking flats and a jean jacket for my next try...

  2. I really like this skirt and don't think it's too short at all! I know every office is different and you know your workplace better than I do, but I think just above the knee is a fine length. Also, the conservative tie-neck blouse and cardigan makes it even more office-friendly. And I can't believe the skirt comes from F21! It's adorable. It kind of looks like something I've seen at The Limited recently.

  6. I was really surprised...the skirt looked like a moderate length on you, but on the F21 model it looked SUPER short.

  7. Very cute and professional outfit. I don't think it looksoffice unworthy at all, but you know your office better. I wore a similar length skirt this week with 3"wedges and didn't feel inappropriate at all.

  9. This skirt looks like a fine length to wear to the office, but you have to wear what you're comfortable with. I like the combo...hope you can remix it as a casual look soon.

  12. Thanks everyone! I tried it on with flats and you're right - it's not too short. I think platform heels are the problem! Thanks for letting me know!

I bought a large so that I could wear it lower on my hips instead of my natural waist. I think that helped some with the length.

    Michelle,
    I'm 5'7" (and a half)
