Inspiration - CAbi
Red, white and black outfit with gold accents to start the work week. As I was getting dressed and thinking about the colors I had a flashback memory of reading Babysitter's Club and one of the characters wearing exclusively red, white and black and thinking that was SO COOL. Young me was so impressed with that kind of teenage commitment to fashion. Right now Google isn't being very helpful for me to figure out the very important question of whether it was Stacey or Claudia that I'm remembering.
Great look! I love that cardi!
ReplyDeleteLove red and black together! I think Stacey was the fashion-conscious, boy-crazy one : )
ReplyDeleteI love this CAbi Tiered Cami! I have it and love wearing it with the Poppy Cardi....usually with jeans, but this looks nice...more polished!
ReplyDeleteLove these dress pants - gorgeous cut!
ReplyDeleteI am pretty sure that it is Stacy because Claudia was into crazy fashion stuff (and not restrained by specific colors). I have a couple of BSC books in Norwegian that I will soon be able to read. I can get back to you on that one :)
ReplyDeleteAgree with K--Stacy was from New York and really into her clothes. Claudia was more boho, as an artistic kid.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually Stephanie from the series "Sleepover Friends" who wore red, black, and white every day. Children's librarian and fellow 30-something here - I still have all my old books! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to be SO obsessed with the Babysitters' Club. I always loved the descriptions of all the outfits (though I usually skipped the first chapter of every book, where they re-introduced all the characters). I think I had the first 60 or 70 books in the series (I bought them maniacally with my allowance from the time I was 7 until I grew bored with them and moved on to Sweet Valley High....probably around 11 or so?). Cute outfit! I like the red and black!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. Love this recreation!!!

Marianne is correct, the character you are thinking of is Stephanie from Sleepover Friends. I loved those books when I was a kid, and I was obsessed with the Babysitter's Club!
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
